EAGLE PASS EAGLES FOOTBALL GRIDIRON NEWS

LAREDO UNITED 58 to 7

The Eagle Pass Eagles varsity football squad mentored by head football coach Tom Gonzalez trekked to the Gateway City of Laredo, Texas on Thursday, October 23, 2014 to take on their longtime district nemesis the Laredo United Longhorns in a key 7:00 PM District 29-6A gridiron encounter at the Laredo United ISD Student Activity Center.  The perennial pass oriented home standing Laredo United Longhorns flooded the airway this evening to the tune of 470 passing yards with six touchdown passes to come away with a 58 to 7 victory over the valiant visiting Eagle Pass Eagles.

LAREDO UNITED SOUTH PANTHERS

District 29-6A Football Opener

Another history making event in the long storied history of the Eagle Pass Eagles varsity football program will be recorded this coming Thursday, October 9, 2014 when the Eagle Pass Eagles under the tutelage of head football coach Tom Gonzalez will entertain their longtime for the Laredo United South Panthers in what will be the first ever District 29-6A gridiron contest.  Kickoff time for this historic gridiron matchup will be 7:00 PM at the Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium.  This game will mark the 21st ever meeting between these two squads with the home standing Eagles currently holding a decisive 18 to 2 lead in the overall series winning the last 7 contests in a row.

The gutsy and valiant C.C. Winn Mavericks’ varsity football team mentored by head football coach Eric Villasenor return to the friendly confines of Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium in Eagle Pass, Texas this coming Friday, October 10, 2014 to entertain the undefeated district co-leading Uvalde Coyotes in a vital 7:30 PM District 29-5A gridiron matchup.  This contest marks the fifth ever meeting between these two teams with the overall series currently tied at 2-2 but the Mavericks have won the last two matchups including last year’s thriller by the final score of 21 to 20 but this Friday’s encounter will be the first ever district contest between these two gridiron foes with the home standing Mavericks seeking to make it three in a row over the Coyotes.

Winn Mavericks’ varsity football squad resumed their 2014 District 29-5A football gridiron battles on Friday, October 3, 2014 venturing down Hwy. 90 East to the City of Castroville, Texas to tangle with the Medina Valley Panthers in a 7:30 PM District 29-5A football contest at Panther Stadium with both the visiting Mavericks and home standing Panthers seeking their first district victory of the season.
