NCAA DIVISION I SOFTBALL DIAMOND NEWS

Krystal De La Cruz leads Louisiana Tech

To Conference USA Championship

By: Conrado Perez, Jr. – Eagle Pass Sports Central

“Your best and only source for local sports news in Eagle Pass”

Former Eagle Pass Lady Eagles standout pitcher Krystal De La Cruz the record setting, most dominant and winningest pitcher in Lady Eagles softball history is continuing her dominance at the collegiate level for the NCAA Division I program Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters as she hurled back to back complete games in leading the Lady Techsters to the prestigious Conference USA championship tournament crown held at Hattiesburg, Mississippi with a 4 to 2 victory over Marshall on six hits with five strikeouts and then coming back with a complete game 1 to 0 two hit with five strikeouts shutout over Florida International in the tournament championship game on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Sophomore Krystal De La Cruz improves her overall pitching record to an impressive 14-3 mark and propels the Lady Techsters to the NCAA Division I Women’s Softball Regional.  Competing and pitching at a high level NCAA Division I softball program you face nothing but top notch softball programs and certainly do not face opponents that resemble intramural programs or PE classes.

Recently the highly talented Krystal De La Cruz received more honors to ad her outstanding wealth of accomplishments as she was selected the Conference USA Newcomer of Year and was also voted as the First team pitcher in Conference USA and was also selected to the Conference USA Championship Tournament all-tournament squad.

Eagle Pass Sports Central congratulates the young and talented Krystal De La Cruz on your most outstanding achievement in spearheading the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters to the 2017 Conference USA championship title and we thank you for representing the entire community of Eagle Pass, Texas with dignity, pride, and class and for being an excellent role model for all of the youth of our community.  We certainly wish you continued success and the very best of luck at the upcoming Regional Tournament. Way to Go Krystal!
