The 2014 District 29-5A softball champion Eagle Pass Lady Eagles’ varsity softball team will open their quest for the bi-district tile by squaring off against the Edinburg Vela Lady Saber Cats the District 30-5A fourth pace representative in a best two out of three series starting on Friday, April 25, 2014 with a 7:00 PM matchup at the Laredo ISD Zachary Softball Complex.  Game 2 of this series is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Laredo ISD Zachary Softball Complex and Game 3 if needed will start 30 minutes after the completion of Game 2.  The ever present negative say Sayers will in their jealous mind think that this should be an easy matchup for the Lady being that it pits a number 1 seed facing a number 4 seed but as only real softball aficionados know very well that a 4 seed has beaten number 1 seeds numerous times before even the local C.C. Winn Lady Mavericks have pulled that feat several times against heavily favorite squads from the valley.
