The long awaited and much anticipated rematch between the Eagle Pass Eagles varsity baseball team and the Sharyland Rattlers took center stage on Friday, May, 17 2013 when these two longtime Texas high school baseball powerhouse programs hooked up in a one game playoff for the UIL Region IV Regional Quarterfinals championship at 7:30 PM at the Frank Tejeda Baseball Field located on 4002 Roosevelt Ave. in San Antonio, Texas.  The Eagle Pass Eagles were seeking to knock off the powerful State ranked Rattlers who were also the Nation’s number 3 ranked team that last season swept the Eagles in two straight in the third round of the playoffs.

With the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles and the Laredo LBJ Lady Wolves varsity softball team the final two remaining District 29-5A softball representatives having been finally eliminated from the post season playoffs; Eagle Pass Sports Central has been authorized to announce the 2013 District 29-5A all-district softball selections as chosen by the respective district head softball coaches during their post regular season meeting held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Border Café in Eagle Pass, Texas.

The 2013 bi-district champion Eagle Pass Eagles varsity baseball squad journeyed to the Alamo City of San Antonio, Texas on Friday, May 10, 2013 to open their quest for the UIL Region IV Area championship in a scheduled best two out of three series against the Brownsville Hanna Golden Eagles at the Frank Tejeda Baseball Field located on 4002 Roosevelt Ave.  With Mother Nature interrupting the start of this series opener on Friday night, the Eagle Pass Eagles – Brownsville Hanna Golden Eagles series was postponed due to rain and lightning to Saturday, May 11, 2013 with a 4:00 PM starting time and only a one game series to determine the 2013 Region IV Area champion.
