Lady Eagles place 14th at
UIL State Cross Country Meet

The 2017 District 29-6A champion and UIL Region IV runner-up champion Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity girls cross country team mentored by head coach Juan Gonzalez ventured to Round Rock, Texas on Saturday, November 4, 2017 to compete in the elite 2017UIL State Cross Country Meet. The youthful highly talented Lady Eagles placed 14th out of 16 teams in the overall team competition with a total of 300 points.
Individually the Lady Eagles were led by standout junior Shanya Luna who placed 33rd out of a total of 150 runners with a time of 18:39. Monica Rivera was next coming in 51st with a time of 18:57, Jackeline Garza crossed the finish line in101st place with a time of 19:49, Andrea Garcia followed in 117th place with a time of 20:12, young Jenna Roiz finished in 125th place with a time of 20:20, Karina Fernandez was next in 135th place with a time of 20:45 and Ana Cristina Alvarez rounded out the team in 141st place with a time of 20:59.
In the varsity boys division Eagles standout Nathan Kowalski placed 68th out of 151rnners with a time of 16:09 to close out a brilliant high school cross country career. Eagle Pass Sports Central congratulates the history making Eagle Pass Lady Eagles as well as Nathan Kowalski on a truly outstanding and memorable 2017 cross country season and wishes each of you continued success and thanks each and every one of you for representing the Eagle Pass High School cross country program as well as the entire community of Eagle Pass, Texas with pride, dignity and class.
