The highly touted Eagle Pass High School boys and girls cross country squads mentored by head coach Juan Gonzalez ventured to Laredo, Texas on Saturday, October 14, 2017 to compete in the 2017 highly competitive District 29-6A Cross Country Meet held at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.  The EPHS Cross Country program year in and year is recognized as one of the premier high school cross country programs in Region IV as well as in the entire State of Texas.

Lady Mavericks place 3rd

The ever improving C.C. Winn High School boys and girls cross country teams under the direction of head coach Apolinar. T. Garza journeyed to the Alamo City on Thursday, October 12, 2017 to compete in the 2017 District 29-5A Cross Country Meet held at the San Antonio Southside campus.  The mighty Mavericks varsity boys have earned their ticket to advance to the highly competitive upcoming UIL Region IV Cross Country Meet by finishing as the district overall runner-up team championship with a total of 35 points.  The youthful Lady Mavericks also earned a berth in the upcoming UIL Region IV Cross Country Meet by placing third in the overall team completion with a total of 82 points.

Coming off their Open week, the District 29-6A tri-leading Eagle Pass Eagles varsity football team mentored by head coach Tom Gonzalez resumed their district gridiron battles on Friday, October 13, 2017 when they entertained the tough San Antonio South San Bobcats in a vital 7:30 PM matchup at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium.  Friday night the high flying Eagles showcased their diversified offensive attack as well as their lightning quick stingy defense against the visiting Bobcats as the Eagles took to the airway to route the South San Bobcats to the tune of 43to 14 behind quarterback Richie Luna who tossed an all-time school record of six touchdown passes on the night three of whom went to the multi-sport standout wide receiver Rey Mendoza.

Winn Mavericks varsity football team under the guidance of head football coach Eric Villasenor coming off their Open week returned to their gridiron battles on Thursday, October 12, 2017 to open their quest for the District 29-5A football title by hosting the San Antonio McCollum Cowboys in a 7:00PM district opener at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium.  The visiting McCollum Cowboys entered this game sporting an overall season record of 0-5 while the home standing C.C. Winn Mavericks ventured into this encounter with an overall season record of 1-4.
